Emerging ready to wear brand FIA, named as an acronym of the names of the three designers; Funke, Ijeoma and Abi, have released their debut collection for Fall/Winter 2015 titled Qua-Iboe, an ankara and print heavy collection of fun, modern pieces.

The Qua-Iboe collection is named after a river in eastern Nigeria and it features a variety of patterns and textures with colourful Ankara prints, leather, cotton and chiffon used fabrics to create an eclectic mix of shift and dresses, matching separates, palazzo pants and pencil skirts with simple but effective details like cut outs, trains on tops and oversized pockets in a contrasting fabric.

On the inspiration behind the collection and their vision as a label the designers say, “This collection is inspired by our diverse interpretations of what we call ‘fashion’. A superbly tailored, mix and match of ethnic/modern prints ingeniously coupled with leather accents. Trends may switch on and off the style radar but a true fashionista must always have timeless pieces in their wardrobe, this is where FIA intends to make its mark.“

The brand describes the collection as  “targeted at the fun-loving, modern yet eclectic style lover.’ but I must say this collection nailed it as it gives a wide range for every category of fashionista  to pick from with its clean lines, interesting options for mixing, matching and layering.
