The campaign for Sharon Ojong’s new venture came out last week, a campaign that introduced her new fashion brand, REKANA, which would be another title as a creative director of ready to wear womenswear brand.
The debut collection features elegant draping and louche, lounge-inspired two pieces in shades of chartreuse, teal, viridian and shamrock green.
REKANA is a ready-to-wear womenswear brand providing women with distinctive clothing in comfortable fabrics that are both functional, stylish and make a statement to the discerning eye. A clothing line that radiates ease, style, strength, signature, lifestyle and relevance.
Our mission is to provide our customers with affordable collections that are all about design excellence and exceptional quality, fabrics and styles suitable for each season, to satisfy the needs of every aspiring fashionista and free-thinking women.
The Rekana Woman is bold, daring and versatile. Because, if you obey all the rules you will miss all the fun.
Speaking further about the lookbook;
Shake up the ordinary and breathe new life into your wardrobe with this season’s staples and traditional outerwear in gorgeous creative layers and cool proportions.
Inspired by friends, fast-fashion and fast cars, our debut collection “REKANATED” tells a day to night story of a bold, unique, ambitious and hardworking today’s women.
Sharon Ojong is really proving her weight in the Nigerian fashion industry, showing us all that she has indeed learnt the business and what can I say, she has definitely learnt the art and act. This collection is dope and as she mentioned, it is for the bold sophisticated woman who sees the limit as a restriction to her fun. So let’s say this is a work hard play hard collection because that is what the ideal woman is doing presently, they’re crazy hard-worker, but guess what, in the midst of this hardwork, they still find their fun.
I love every piece from the collection because I know they can be worn as separates but my absolute favs would be Mayreejay denim jacket and pearl bell bottoms I don’t think I’ll want to rock both of them together, but my stomach is already full of butterflies at the thought of how they’ll come out as separates.
What’s your favourite piece?
